The 48 Volt OES2 System

Home energy storage system with solar

This is a 10.5 kWh residential energy storage system integrated with a solar array using a Xantrex inverter/charger and charge controllers. The OES2 48 Volt System was installed in a 3ft by 2ft space and mounted on the wall with $40 of unistrut. The four OES2 systems are hooked in parallel, increasing the efficiency of the overall distributed home energy system. Simple installation and weighs a total of 250lbs. The system was installed by Real Goods Solar, a great company that really knows their stuff.

The OES2 48 Volt System is designed for home and business owners that want to install a renewable energy system that gives them some independence to run their important electrical loads with the grid goes down. The OES2 48 volt system is designed for ease of install, overall efficiency, long life and safety.

This was an interesting grid connected installation in Southern California. At first we thought that this might go into the garage, but due to the limited space (with 2 cars in the garage) and barely any wiggle room we installed the OES system along with the Xantrex inverter and charge controller in the basement. The OES2’s were attached to the wall with $20 of Unistrut and the Xantrex inverter and charge controller were located just above the OES2 system and to the left (out of the picture). This was designed as a 48Volt system with a nice amount of PV on roof.
